Inner Battle

From inside a voice quite clearly calls
Come…You know you want to
Come into the abyss that conceals your pain
It will never heal…You should feel this
Turn away…This hurts to much
Turn away …You don’t have to feel this
This disclosure
Nagging from my inner depths
Fuels insecurity
Starves my creativity
Encircling my days
With unfulfilled
Fruitless endeavour
Taking hold of hope
It drowns it
Strangles love
Then smashes joy
BUT
Listen
A new voice
A whisper
So faint it’s hardly there
Look
A Light is given to clear the darkness
The illumination of peace
Becomes reality
I then pick up my pen
And I write.
